MANY NATIONAL FOREST LAKES
Besides Sylvania Wilderness, Cisco Chain, Lake Gogebic, Bond Falls Flowage, Presque Isle Flowage, Ontonagon River, Presque Isle River, Slate River. Every direction of the cabin are National Forest Lakes. Cabin has mapbooks to use during your stay.
The area by the cabin is a water wonderland for adventures.
If you go west of the cabin there are National Forest Lakes between the cabin and Marenisco, MI.
For the ones learning how to canoe and kayak, one could (with guidance) learn how to canoe and kayak on a more quieter lake. Or, just enjoy a new place to canoe or kayak. New scenery. Have a picnic lunch and then come back to the cabin for a campfire dinner or relaxing evening.
And, many more lakes such as Beatons Lake. The cabin has a driveway that circles out on Beatons Lake Road. Beatons Lake access is off of Road west of cabin.
Many lakes with listed boat landings (MANY MANY LAKES too numerous to mention).
And, then other lakes, rivers, creeks with listed 'carry in access points' such as (mapped on books and information): Plymouth Lake, Mishike Lake, East Branch Presque Isle River, Presque Isle River (other canoe or carry in access points), Corneilia Lake, June, Hay, Pomeroy, Twist, Wilson, Dawn, Snuffbox Creek (Custer Creek, connector creeks), etc.
Find your adventure areas. Bring a cell phone in a water proof case (and backup power). Best to go canoeing and kayaking with someone for safety, fun, and more.
Mapbooks in the cabin to use during your stay such as: Mi-Trale Mapbook, Gogebic County Platbook, Ontonagon County Platbook, lake mapbooks, etc.
Go fishing and kayaking or canoeing for the day. Come back to the cabin and fry up your fish and relax on some couches after dinner.

Sitesee, enjoy the day and then come back to a cabin for your conveniences. Save time and hassles of packing additional gear. Room on acreage for kayaks, canoes, trailers and gear.
Fun on the river routes
Take some time in the sun or fresh air. Then, come back to the cabin to plan your next days adventures. Look at the maps, see where to adventure. Get a good nights sleep and start fresh the next days canoeing and or kayaking trips.
Enjoy some time away
